Is there any remedy for discrimination between men and women under employment?
Indian employment law prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender at the time of recruitment and during employment on the work place. A general prohibition against discrimination is provided under The Constitution of India. These provisions are generally applicable to general bodies. According to the Equal Remuneration Act, 1976, a women employee cannot be discriminated at the place of employment regarding her remuneration. She should get the same salary as the men are getting for the same or similar work.
