The Payment of Wages Act of 1936 mandates that an employee’s salary be paid promptly. Employees can submit a legal complaint or contact the Labour Commissioner if payment is not made. Also The Payment of Bonus Act of 1965 mandates that any business or corporation that is five years old and employs 20 or more people in any accounting year pay a bonus to its workers.
