A bench of justices denounced his statements as “obscene, irresponsible, and insulting” to societal values, questioning his accountability as a public figure.
Court’s Observations:
"If this is not obscenity, then what is?" – The court called out the inappropriate nature of his statements.
"Have you got a license to speak like this?" – It questioned his sense of responsibility.
"There has to be some accountability." – The justices stressed the duty of influencers with large followings.
"He thinks he can take society for granted?" – The court rebuked his disregard for ethics.
"Your words have put parents, daughters, and the entire society to shame." – The bench condemned the social impact of his remarks.
Court’s Orders:
Despite the criticism, the court granted Allahabadia protection from arrest under strict conditions:
1. No Arrest: He will not be arrested as long as he cooperates with the investigation.
2. No New FIRs: No additional FIRs can be filed based on the same allegations.
3. Passport Seized: He must submit his passport to Thane Police and cannot leave India without court permission.
4. Security Support: He may seek police protection in Maharashtra and Assam if he faces threats.
5. Content Ban: Neither he nor his team can release new episodes or similar content until further court orders.
The Supreme Court’s strong stance underscores the growing scrutiny on social media influencers and their responsibility towards public discourse.
