In their October 25 ruling, the justices expressed disappointment over the lack of a consistent compensation framework for such cases, lamenting that without one, India’s promises of equality and personal liberty... remain unfulfilled.
Beyond the years lost to prison, the High Court underscored how individuals released after wrongful conviction face complex struggles.
